BALLARD, WA, Saturday, July 1, 2006 – Braving 90-degree heat The Market Street Singers raised $2,600 for a housing project in Seattle’s Central District. All proceeds from their June 25 concert, “All Roads Lead Home,” have been slated towards a Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Builds project to renovate a previously condemned house for a low income family of six.

“All Roads Lead Home” featured inspiring music about home, family, and community, with guest appearances by pianist Ingrid Verhulsdonk, tenor Brandon Higa, and didjeridu master Brian Pertl. The concert was under the direction of Chris Vincent.

The concert was presented at Magnolia Lutheran Church, which is one of a coalition of eight Seattle-area Lutheran churches invited by Thrivent to raise $12,000 in seed money for the remodel project.
